IoT technology has transformed our daily lives and quality of life by providing convenience and efficiency at the same time. This research investigates the level of knowledge and understanding regarding the Internet of Things (IoT) in relation to safeguarding personal data. A sample was selected from the target population of IoT users. A total of 35 questionnaires were distributed to Malaysian citizens using simple random sampling methods to achieve the research objectives. The findings suggest a positive correlation between the perceived usefulness and the level of awareness regarding privacy and security in the context of the Internet of Things (IoT) among the citizens of Malaysia. The perceived usefulness of IoT technology substantially impacts users' level of awareness regarding privacy and security concerns. Future research on the effectiveness of different strategies in promoting IoT privacy and security awareness among individuals in other countries with similar cultural contexts is essential.
